About Slijper
David Slijper is a new york based photographer born in yorkshire. he became interested in photography at 13 before being encouraged to follow an academic career. he moved to london in 1987 to study at london school of economics, still following his interest in photography to break the routine of school. after graduating with a first in economics he went into research and wrote an academic book before committing full time to photography aged 25. he started his career as a freelance photographer shooting for sunday times magazine, the observer and the independent magazine, which led him to start contributing to i-d magazine in 1988.
